SUPERAGUI NATIONAL PARK is considered one of the five most notable coastal ecosystems of the globe. It is part of the complex formed by Guaraqueçaba, Cananéia, Iguape and Paranagua estuarines, one of the most important regions of Brazil, from the point of view of sustaining food.
In 1998 the region was headed by UNESCO as World Natural Heritage Site of Humanity. The fauna is represented by a great diversity of species, among them stand out from the purple-faced-parrots an the black-faced lion tamarin, both endemic animals.
